When Darkness Falls
When people see Eve Kelly, all they see is a barista who works at the Dark Side Cafe. They see someone who’s too weak to standup for herself and stop her boyfriend’s abuse. They see her for what her mixed blood makes her; too ordinary to be a supernatural, too dirty to be human. No one would ever suspect that she could be capable of violence or that she would ever became anything more than what she was. They are wrong.
Eve’s mixed blood isn’t dirty, it’s unique. It’s not until what laid dormant in her blood becomes awakened that she realizes she’s special. But, she isn’t alone in that realization. Many other supernatural forces discover who and what she is, and her life as she knows it will forever be changed.
Framed for murder, Eve must go on the run and stay one step ahead of her enemies. The vampyres want to control her, Werewolves want to kill her, and the corrupt supernatural police have a warrant of execution with her name on it. The only way she can save herself is by accepting what she must become: a monster. Only then will she become strong enough to defeat her enemies, but she might damn herself in the process.
Book II: The Darkness Within
As a newly ascended vampyre, Eve Kelly struggles to find her new normal. She’s incapable of slipping back into her old life, so she must forge a new path. But since Eve’s the first of her kind in countless centuries, the supernatural community isn’t able to leave her alone without trying to influence her every decision.
Eve gathers strong forces around her while the Angels begin to once more hunt all non-humans — the beginning of the prophesied war between those of light and the darkness. With the shortened timetable, the other forces of darkness begin to gather strength as well so they can help the new Queen of Darkness, Eve.
It takes a string of horrific murders to bring everyone together and realize that they are all on the same side; fighting for survival against the Angels. As Eve’s power and abilities grow, more and more people feel the impact of her decisions and actions. She, and she alone, has the ability to restore all of the supernatural’s fading power. Eve can return them all to their former glory, and sway the balance of power back into their hands. But as her confidence grows with her embracing who and what she is, so too does the desperation of the Angels hunting for her.
